There are moments in life when our problems feel so loud that they try to take center stage in our hearts. But David reminds us in Psalm 34:3 to "magnify the Lord, and exalt His name together."  To magnify something means to focus on it intentionally, and one practical way we can do that is through praise and worship. Worship shifts our focus back to God's nature and creates an atmosphere where we're declaring the truths of who He is and how good He is. So if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, here are 5 worship songs to help you magnify the Lord and trust in His plan for your life.

  1. Flowers - Samantha Ebert

The first time I listened to this song, I was in awe at how beautifully it captured the questions I had for God. The line "Lord, why are you keeping me here?" especially hit home because it was my cry to Him multiple times in prayer. As the song continues however, I am filled with hope and trust that the Lord is working and moving on my behalf and soon my prayer will be "Thank you Jesus for keeping me there!" As you listen to it, allow the words to comfort you and rest in the truth that God's got you!

  1. Sufficient for Today - Maverick City & Maryanne J. George

I don't know about you but I like to have all the answers. As you can imagine, that has led to some hiccups on my walk with God because there are seasons in my life where He just wants me to trust Him and walk by faith. This song reminds me that I don't have to have enough manna for the month, or even the week; I can trust that God has given me everything I need to make it through today. His favor, mercy, and grace are sufficient for each day and that's enough.

  1. Doing of the Lord - Moses Bliss & Nathaniel Bassey

Ever since my friend introduced me to this song, I've had it on repeat. It helps me not only reflect on things the Lord has already done and praise Him for them, but it gives me hope that the same God who came through in the past will come through again and again, and again! Sometimes, in order to renew your trust in God for the things He is doing right now, you need to be reminded of what He did in the past. This song helps me do that by celebrating what the Lord has already done in my life!

  1. Owe You Praise - Elevation Worship & Chandler Moore

This is another reflecting song to shift your focus back to what the Lord has already done in your life. As you listen to it and sing the words, truly think back to all the ways the Lord has come through in your life and give Him praise for them.

  1. God Will Work It Out - Maverick City, Naomi Raine & Israel Houghton

The title of this song says it all, but this song brings me peace, especially in moments of anxiety and uncertainty. The words remind me that God is working and that I can rest in Him and I pray that as you listen to the melody, you are also reminded that you can rest in your Heavenly Father because He's got it.

I pray these songs uplift and encourage you in this season and renew your trust in God's plan for your life.
